Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin

Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin was born in 1972 in Hamadoni district, the Republic of Tajikistan. In 1995 he graduated with honours from the Tajik State University majoring in "Accounting, Audit and Business Analysis." In 2001 he obtained a Master's degree in Economics of Development and in 2006 a PhD in Economics from the Australian National University.
Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin has extensive experience in the field of economics and banking. Having started his professional career in 1995 at the National Bank of Tajikistan until 2003, he worked as an Economist of the first category of Economic Analysis and Forecasting Division, Chief Economist of the Credit Division and Head of the Credit Division of the Monetary Policy Department.
During 2003 - 2006 years he studied at the Australian National University for his PhD dissertation, at the same time over the period of 2004 - 2005 he worked as a part time tutor of financial and economic subjects in English at this University. Since 2006 he worked as Deputy Head of the Open Market Operations Department of the National Bank of Tajikistan.
In 2007 Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin was appointed as Advisor to Executive Director of the World Bank Group and Advisor to Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund, at the same time serving as a Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan in these organizations.
From 2011 to 2014 he worked as Head of the Secretariat of the Consultative Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Improvement of Investment Climate.
In 2014 he was appointed by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the position of Senior Advisor to the Assistant’s Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Economic Issues.
Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin is fluent in Russian and English.
